It’s the new cosmetic surgery that some women are calling a dream come true.

Local plastic surgeons have figured out how to take unwanted fat and transfer it to an area where some ladies wish they did have a little extra padding — the breasts.

It’s called “up a cup.”

It’s a new procedure that has little down time — but is it the best choice for your chest?

It’s the boob job that Dr. Aaron Rollins calls painless and practical.

“I tell my patients it’s like recycling. We’re taking unwanted fat and putting it somewhere it’s useful,” Rollins says.

Shanna Rucker, a mother of three, tells KTLA that after breastfeeding she missed her full breasts.

“That’s what I want to get back to — what I looked like when I was breastfeeding,” Rucker said.

Our cameras followed Shanna as Dr. Rollins outlined areas on her body where fat would be removed.

Those areas included the hips, thighs and stomach — the transfer taking Shanna from an A-cup to a full B.

“Our patient is going to get a smaller waist, more of a violin, a silhouette and yet fuller breasts,” Dr. Rollins says. “You don’t feel a bag, implant or ball. It’s natural.”

Technically called Laser NIL, the procedure is less invasive than standard liposuction and doesn’t scar. Patients are lightly drugged and awake during the process.

But will the fat stay and is it a smart move?

According to Dr. Rollins, the answer to both questions is yes.

He claims they are able to harvest two to five more stem cells than in the past.

“It’s all about the stem cells,” he says. “If you can get a lot of stem cells, they will actually anchor in and your breasts will recognize it as your own body tissue.”

Shanna is impressed, and is actually able to sit up and see results during the operation.

The procedure costs about $8,000, and that includes the liposuction for the problem areas as well as getting the fat transferred to the breasts.

The downtime is about 48 hours, on average.
