TEMPLE CITY, Calif. (KTLA) — A driver was hospitalized Saturday morning after he was stabbed the night before by hitchhikers, who he had picked up in Arizona, according to police.
The attack reportedly happened after the man had pulled over to let the hitchhikers out of his vehicle after they had begun quarreling, police said.
The man, who suffered four stab wounds to the torso, managed to drive to an IHOP Restaurant in Rosemead before collapsing.
He was transported to a local hospital and was expected to survive.
After the stabbing the hitchhikers – a male and female in their early 20s – took off into a Temple City neighborhood.
Police found and arrested the couple at Temple City Boulevard and the 10 Freeway. They were booked at the Temple City Police Station and faced attempted murder charges.
