LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Don’t forget to set your clocks an hour ahead before going to bed tonight — Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday morning.
You smart phones will likely change on their own, but don’t forget to change those old clocks on the walls.
The time change officially takes place at 2 a.m., which will become 3 a.m.
For many of us moving to Daylight Saving Time means losing an hour of sleep, but some people take the change better than others.
“How am I going to do, because I get up early in the morning, so I’m already calculating what time it will be when I get up to walk. But I like walking in the dark, that’s why I have the light, because there are no other dogs,” a woman said while walking her dog.
In 2008 the New England Journal of Medicine published a study which found a spike in heart attacks occurring in the first week of Daylight Saving Time.
Daylight Saving Time was first instituted as a way of saving electricity. In 2005 President Bush signed an energy policy act, which extended Daylight Saving Time by four weeks each year.
