For Daylight Saving Time back in 1950, one of MGM’s biggest stars pushed the heavy hands of the big clock at the landmark Eastern Columbia building to where they needed to be.
Monica Lewis says the makings of the moment were two-fold: She was a favorite of the MGM publicity department and had a hard time saying no. She also enjoyed the work.

But over 60 years later, there’s a little more to what the old studio system wanted us to believe. KTLA’s Dave Mecham sat down with Lewis to remember the event.
