Suspected Heroin Dealer Charged with Murder in Overdose
LAKE FOREST, Calif. (KTLA) — The Orange County Sheriff’s Department arrested a suspected heroin dealer, and have charged him with murder.
Detectives say 21-year-old Emma Wihlborg died after overdosing on drugs given to her by a man sheriff’s officials say is a known heroin dealer.
35-year-old Louis Wood is accused of murdering Wihlborg by providing and administering heroin at the Extended Stay America on Lake Forest Drive on Nov. 16, 2011.
Investigators say Wood, a resident of Mission Viejo, was present in the motel when Wihlborg overdosed.
“Mr. Wood supplied drugs to the 21-year-old victim at the hotel in Lake Forest. He supplied a couple of drugs to her. She did die as a result of him administering those drugs,” said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Wood was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail March 11.
He has been indicted for murder by a grand jury and is being held on $1 million bail.
