SANTA ANA, Calif. (KTLA) — Two men have been wounded in an officer-involved shooting in Santa Ana following a brief pursuit.
It happened just before 3:00 p.m. Friday near East 15th Street and North Grand Avenue.
Police say the suspects were driving a stolen Nissan Sentra and failed to pull over for officers on the I-5 freeway.
After a short pursuit, the men exited the freeway and began driving on surface streets.
The driver attempted to make an eastbound turn but crashed into a curb, coming to a halt in some shrubbery, said Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
The men exited the vehicle and that’s when the shooting occurred.
It is not clear why the officers opened fire.
The wounded victims were transported to Western Medical Center.
They have been identified as Jason Erling Hallstrom 41, and 29-year-old Travis Stuart Mock.
They are hospitalized in serious, but stable condition.

Did the car theft suspects have guns? There's a quote from a Santa Ana Police official. Did anyone at KTLA bother to ask?
Journalism is dead.

This is far beyond stupidity, why do people TRY to out run police, all they do is endanger the general public, and are captured, or worse.
