DOWNEY, Calif. (KTLA) — An altercation on the streets of Downey turned deadly early Sunday when two men were both stabbed and shot to death.
The incident happened outside Tacos Mexico, located in the 7800 block of Florence Avenue.
One of the victims, 31-year-old Isaac Perez, worked at his family’s restaurant, George’s Bar & Grill, located across the street.
Employees said that the victims had gone to Tacos Mexico to get food when, for some reason, they got into an altercation with the suspects.
“When officers arrived, they found two males in their early 30s suffering from both stab and gunshot wounds,” said Downey police Lt. Mark McDaniel.
“Downey paramedics responded, treated the victims and transported them to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead,” he said.
The male suspects were last seen fleeing westbound on Florence Avenue.
Police believe the suspects fled west on Florence Avenue.
It was not clear how many suspects were involved, nor how the fight began.
Police were gathering surveillance video from businesses in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call Downey police at (562) 904-2329.

Sports Bars have always been a great place to be killed, there is no situation that alcohol won't make worse.
