Anaheim Teacher Faces Child Pornography Charges

IRVINE, Calif. (KTLA) — A teacher at a reputable Catholic high school in Orange County was in court Friday to answer to child pornography charges.

Prosecutors allege Zachary Joshua Reeder posed as a “young, blonde, white female” on Facebook to befriend and seduce underage boys and luring them into sending him sexually explicit pictures of themselves.

At least 70 victims have come forward.  The youngest victim is 14, according to Irvine police investigators.
Reeder is facing 140 felony counts, including possession of child pornography, distributing obscene matter involving minors, exhibiting lewd material to a minor and luring a child with intent to commit a specified crime.

Reeder posted a $1 million bail bond and was released from Orange County Jail on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old teacher taught social science at Servite High School in Anaheim for more than four years.  He was terminate from his position last weekend.

It does not appear Reeder had physical contact with the victims.

Before Servite, Reeder taught history at Capistrano Valley Christian High in San Juan Capistrano and has been a walk-on baseball coach at Beckman High in Irvine for the past four seasons.

Anyone with information on the case or possible victims should contact Detective Frough Jahid at 949-724-7184 or fjahid@cityofirvine.org

Truly sad that we have two simular stories in one day. It is my sincere wish that these people receive an "education" that is well deserved
