HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) — A man was shot and killed during a confrontation with police in Huntington Beach on Thursday.
Police responded to a call of a man threatening a woman with a gun at a restaurant.
An officer encountered the suspect and another woman walking near the corner of Warner Avenue and Hoskins Lane.
The suspect produced a handgun, and the officer fired, killing the unidentified man.
“I heard gunshots, and I thought they were firecrackers, so I didn’t think of any of it,” resident Dylan Sorensen recalled.
“Then I heard the helicopter go around and they said get down on the ground, so I knew something was up,” she said.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman who was with him was taken into custody.
The gun he was carrying turned out to be a replica firearm, police said. No officers were injured in the incident.

I am amazed at the stupidity of some indivduals. The officer did exactly what he was trained to do.

Don't try to shoot the police officers. Don't show the police officers your toy gun.
