Two O.C. Cities Fight Over Fire Pit Ban – Mary Beth McDade reports
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) — The burning debate over whether “fire pits” should be allowed on two popular Orange County beaches continues to rage.
The city of Newport Beach wants to remove 33 fire rings near Balboa Pier and another 27 rings on a stretch of Corona del Mar State Beach.
The move follows complaints by beach front residents about smoke and related health issues.
But the city of Huntington Beach fears a ban in neighboring Newport could cost them a million dollars in parking revenue. Mary Beth McDade has more.
