HEMET, Calif. (KTLA) — Police arrested a high school assistant principal Wednesday on suspicion of having sexual relationships with three male students.
Hemet police had been investigating Erin Henton, 45, since March 8 when parents reported an alleged sexual relationship between their son and Henton.
Administrators at Tahquitz High School relieved Henton of her duties and placed her on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Prosecutors charged Henton with 12 felonies: seven counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with minor, four counts oral copulation with minor, and one count of distributing harmful matter to a minor.
The abuse occurred between September of last year and March, detectives said.
Henton will be arraigned on Friday at Southwest Justice Center of Murrieta. She is being held on a $1 million bail.
The Hemet Unified School District issued a statement Wednesday afternoon:
“The investigation involving an employee of Tahquitz High School for alleged crimes committed against a minor has resulted in an arrest.
“We take these situations very seriously and have taken appropriate personnel actions in response to this arrest to ensure the safety of our students and staff.”
