Manhunt in Mexico For Suspect in Northridge Girl’s Abduction — Chris Wolfe Reports
He is considered extremely dangerous…a man with a long and violent criminal record… now charged in connection with an attack on a 10 year old Northridge girl last week.
Tobias Dustin Summers is charged with kidnapping, burglary and nearly three dozen counts of sexual assault.
We’re now learning he apparently fled to Mexico.
“Surveillance footage shows Summers crossing a foot bridge into Tecate, Mexico. We’re not sure if he has come back into the United States. But we are focusing our efforts in that region,” says LAPD Chief Charlie Beck.
Police are asking for the public’s help in nabbing the suspected kidnapper.
“He may have shaved his head. Investigators say if you think you’ve spotted him, call 911,” Beck says. “The Los Angeles area should be concerned. All of North America should be concerned. Protect your children.”
Mexican authorities are cooperating in the manhunt.
According to reports, they’ve created “wanted” posters and searched a home in Tijuana.
However, the suspected predator is still on the run.
Los Angeles detectives say Summers and another man approached the girl’s home in the middle of the night, possibly to burglarize it.
The other man waited in the car.
Summers allegedly went inside and later emerged with the little girl.
She was held captive in a vacant house, assaulted and then set free hours later.
The other suspect, Daniel Martinez, was formally charged with kidnapping and burglary, in court, earlier this week.
