SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (KTLA) — A high wind warning has been issued for the greater Los Angeles area and forecasters fear the event may down power lines across the area.
Southern California on Sunday warned its nearly 5 million customers to keep their eyes open for downed power lines. The National Weather Service forecasts winds between 25 and 40 mph through much of Southern California, with gusts up to 65 mph.
If the winds are as strong as forecasters believe, they could spell power outages for many communities. Southern California Edison officials warn residents to watch out for wires on the ground and if any are spotted, extra repair crews are standing by to fix downed lines as soon as possible.
