Investigators Search for Clues in Boston Marathon Bombings — Carolyn Costello Reports
As investigators talk to witnesses, and secure surveillance cameras in the areas surrounding the scene of the blasts…reports indicate a surveillance picture of a man with a backpack…may be a key piece of evidence…but there several pieces of physical evidence…according to Steve Moore, a former FBI special agent.
“The bomber leaves you something, he leaves you the bomb, tragically pieces of the bomb are in the victims,” says Steve Moore.
In bombs made with shrapnel designed to maim as many people as possible….the ball-bearings, possible pieces of pipe, and even pieces of backpack … are all evidence that may be traced back to whoever planned and carried out the attack.
Moore whose Boston counterpart is heading up the investigation, says there’s no doubt today’s was a terrorist attack intended to instill fear…but was it a domestic or foreign terrorist or group?
“It’s just my take on this, it was a lone wolf not under anyone’s direction who feels a bond with al Qaeda and wants to do their part,” Moore says.
Steve believes an American terrorist would be more likely to make an anti-establishment statement…
“This was not an American government sight..this was an American sight,” Moore says.
Right now, Moore says nothing can be ruled out…because people irrational enough to kill others may not be rational enough to do it in a way to make the statement they want to make.
