Most Evacuations Lifted in Monrovia Brush Fire — Sara Welch Reports

Officials ordered mandatory evacuations Saturday afternoon for several neighborhoods in Monrovia as firefighters continued to battle a brush fire in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.

The fire broke out shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday near Crescent Drive and Madison Avenue. Evacuations went into effect about 1:45 p.m., but almost all residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
