Elderly Woman Attacked by Pit Bull in Colton

COLTON, Calif. (KTLA) — A 74-year-old woman was in critical condition on Sunday after being attacked by a pit bull.

Margarita Negrete was attacked on N Street in Colton on Saturday when she tried to save her small dog, which had been attacked by the pit bull.

A family member called 911, and the pit bull was still biting Negrete when officers arrived.

Officers fired three shots to put the dog down.

Negrete underwent surgery at a local hospital for her head wounds, and was expected to undergo surgery again for bleeding in her leg.

Negrete’s granddaughter told KTLA she’s expected to survive.

Sorry to hear about the lady. Get well.
3 shots to put the dog down?
Charge the negligent owners and make them pay the bills too.
