Riverside police say a black Mustang was stolen just minutes before it plowed into the side of another car — sending a little girl to a hospital in critical condition.

And even more upsetting to people here, is that the mustang was racing with another vehicle — and both drivers left the scene.

Anger here at this Riverside intersection, where witnesses tell police that 2 cars were street racing and one of them, a stolen 2008 Mustang broadsided a car pulling into its path.

A 4-yo girl was riding in the back seat of the mangled Chevy Malibu.

Riverside police say the girl was unconscious at the scene… And rushed to Loma Linda Hospital.

Police say the driver of the black Mustang — who fled on foot — is described as a thin Hispanic male… 5-6 to 5-8 inches tall.

Investigators say the Mustang was reported stolen 3 miles away… Just a few minutes before this collision — which is being blamed on street racing.

Witnesses told police the other racing car was an orange or tan Acura Integra or a Honda Prelude.
