SANTA MONICA, Calif. (KTLA) — Police arrested five people after an assault and robbery that took place at a motel in Santa Monica late Sunday night.
It all happened at the Sea View Hotel in the 1700 block of Ocean Boulevard.
Santa Monica police say five people were returning to their rooms shortly before midnight, and the suspects followed them.
They roughed up the victims and then robbed them.
Two of the five victims were taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Officers responded quickly and apprehended five suspects. They recovered a handgun and brass knuckles.
Police were looking into whether the victims might have known the suspects.

Just a few questions. The five victims didn't realize that five people followed them. Did the suspects force their way into the hotel room or were they invited in? Five people in one hotel room seems a little odd. How did the police catch up with the suspects?
