Pro skateboarder Ryan Sheckler was here to talk about his foundation. On May 4, the Sheckler Foundation is hosting Skate for a Cause, an event that is open to everyone in the L.A. area to attend for free. This event is benefiting the Sheckler Foundation’s “Be the Change” program that is building a skate park on the Port Gamble S’klallam Reservation. Skate for a Cause gives skateboarders, sponsors and the community a chance to have fun while giving back to those in need. It’s going to be an exciting, charitable mix of the world’s top skaters competing in best trick contests, skate demos and a skate carnival village with lots of big sponsors offering fun games with amazing prizes for all event guests. The foundation has raised and donated over $770,000 to charity to-date, and they plan to raise and donate more this year. Not only is Ryan Sheckler skating at the event, but dozens of pro skaters such as Torey Pudwill and Greg Lutzka are scheduled to compete too.
