BLOOMINGTON, Calif. — A scheduling mix-up led to a lot of confusion and disappointment this weekend for hundreds of students at Bloomington High School.
Students wearing evening gowns and tuxedos showed up at Santa Anita Park Saturday expecting to attend their prom.
Instead, they discovered that their school had changed the date, but apparently failed to notify anyone.
Santa Anita Park tried to accommodate the students, finding a deejay and some finger foods. But students say it just wasn’t the same.
The school is taking full responsibility for the mix-up and is planning a second prom — free of charge — in late May.
