HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. (KTLA) — Authorities hoped surveillance video would lead them to a man and woman who brutally attacked a taxi driver.
The attack took place on Saturday around 2:30 a.m. in Huntington Park.
The cab driver, Jorge Arvizu, told investigators that the trouble started when the couple began fighting in the back seat of the taxi.
The couple became irate, shouting profanities at Arvizu and trying to reach through the plexiglass partition.
It got so bad that Arvizu pulled over and asked the couple to get out of the cab.
He can be seen on surveillance video walking around the cab to open their door. And that’s when Arvizu was attacked by the couple.
He was badly beaten and spent several days in the ICU.
Both passengers were believed to be Hispanic and in their early thirties, police said.
The woman was described as about 5’5”, 170 pounds. Her companion was about 5’8” and 160 pounds, with a mustache, according to police.
He was last seen wearing a black cowboy hat and black cowboy boots.
Anyone with information was urged to call Huntington Park police.
