ATLADENA, Calif. (KTLA) — A large beige bear climbed trees and stole food outside homes in Altadena on Thursday.

The bear ate food from trash cans outside one house.

He was then spotted in a second yard, where he scaled a fence and stole fish from a koi pond.

The homeowners’ dogs scared the bear off, and one of the fish survived the ordeal.

The Sheriff’s Department isn’t trying to capture the bear and hopes it will return to higher elevations.

It's an American Black Bear, the color isn't beige…it's called cinnamon. An animal can't steal, that suggests the bear committed a crime. It merely did what is natural for a bear…eat fish out of a river or pond.
