Man Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash in Winnetka
WINNETKA, Calif. (KTLA) — A man was killed and four others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Winnetka early Thursday.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 19000 block of West Roscoe Boulevard when a Pontiac sedan pulled out from the curb and turned into traffic, police said.
A Mercedes Kompresor heading eastbound on Roscoe swerved to avoid the Pontiac and collided with a Nissan Pathfinder, causing the SUV to overturn.
The Mercedes then continued eastbound and collided with the left side of the Pontiac, according to an LAPD news release.
The driver of the Pontiac, a passenger and a child were seriously hurt and were taken to an area hospital, where the driver was pronounced dead.
His identity has not been released. He was a Granada Hills resident, police said.
The driver of the Pathfinder, a Winnetka resident, suffered minor injuries. The Mercedes driver, a resident of Reseda, was seriously hurt.
Both were transported to local hospitals.
