SAN CLEMENTE (KTLA) — Former Detroit Lions receiver Titus Young was arrested on burglary charges on Friday, the third time he has been arrested in the past week.
“We don’t see that too often,” Lt. Joe Balicki of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said about the three arrests.
Young allegedly broke into a home in San Clemente on Friday, authorities said.
“I heard steps on my hardwood floors and they were unusual,” said Bill Plattos, the owner of that home.
Plattos said he grabbed his gun and yelled at Young to leave his house.
He fled when police arrived and then tried to fight the officers, authorities said.
On May 5, Young was arrested twice in a 24-hour period, the first time in Moreno Valley for suspicion of drunk driving and the second time for trying to steal his own car from a tow yard.
Young was drafted by the Lions in the 2011 NFL Draft and then cut for behavioral problems.
