At one point it appeared that Paradise Ranch Mobile Home Park may be in the path of the flames, but fire officials later said the fire appeared to be moving away from populated areas.

No evacuations were ordered.

The blaze was 75 percent contained as of 10:30 p.m. with full containment expected by morning.

The fire was having a serious impact on rush hour traffic through the Castaic area.

All but the right lane had reopened.
