At Least 1 Sought in Attempts to Lure Schoolgirls Into Car

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Police asked the public for help Thursday in identifying the man, or men, who allegedly tried to lure young girls into a car in the Cypress Park area.

LA-Annoyance-Suspects

Sketches of man, or men, sought in alleged child annoyance.

There have been four incidents since October, two of those involving the same girl, where at least one man is believed to have pulled up beside a teenage schoolgirl while they were walking by themselves and offered them a ride, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

In each case, the girl refused to get in the car, fled to a safe place and called for help, police said.

Authorities have released two sketches, although it is unclear if there is more than one man involved.

The first sketch showed a man wearing a dark baseball cap with short dark hair and a light mustache with a possible goatee.

The second composite depicted a man as bald, wearing small earrings and a chain around his neck.

In all cases, the man was described as Hispanic, 30 to 45 years old and between 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall.

The man had been seen driving a light-colored, 2007 to 2011 four-door Honda Accord with possible paper plates.

An additional vehicle was described as a dark-green, 2007 to 2010 four-door Toyota Camry.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to contact the LAPD.
