Man Shot, Killed in Lobby of Alhambra Police Department

ALHAMBRA, Calif. (KTLA) — Police shot and killed a man who allegedly pulled a knife out of his back pack in the lobby of the Alhambra Police Department Friday, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.

The incident took place at 7:30 a.m. when a man between 25 and 30 years old came into station located at 211 S. First St., officials said.

Officers said they attempted to communicate with the man but he was unresponsive and non-coherent.

He allegedly produced a large kitchen knife from his back pack and a deputy-involved shooting occurred, sheriff’s officials said.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s department.

No officers were hurt in the incident.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was assisting Alhambra police in handling the investigation.
