Police: 2 Armed Robbers Sought in East L.A.
EAST LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Sheriff’s deputies were searching for two suspected armed robbers in East Los Angeles Monday morning, authorities said.
Around 2 a.m., the men approached a catering truck with one man inside parked at Hicks and Cesar Chavez avenues, according to police.
The men allegedly brandished weapons and demanded cash before fleeing in a dark-colored Honda Accord, police said.
The victim was not hurt and called 911.
Deputies from the East L.A. Sheriff’s Station located the car on Gleason Street.
The car was still warm, deputies said, so they believed the robbers were still in the area.
Police set up a perimeter and were searching for the men with multiple patrol units, three K9s and a helicopter.
The active search was called off shortly after 4:30 a.m.
Residents were warned to be on the lookout and to report anything suspicious to 911 immediately.
