Thousands Attend Memorial Day Ceremony in Rancho Palos Verdes

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. (KTLA) – More than five thousand people were expected to attend a Memorial Day Observance at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes Monday.

Recognized as one of the most popular holiday observances in Southern California, the 28th annual event paid tribute to the men and women who have lost their lives while serving the nation.

Among those attending was a 90-year-old World War II veteran who received an emotional welcome from the crowd.

The event included the release of 100 doves, aerial fly-overs and a parade of colors presented by all branches of the armed forces.
