“The first I saw was my son sitting there his face bleeding swollen his jaw moved to the side. My son was saying mom please just take me to the hospital,” stepmother Jade Downey said.
7th grader Nathan Downey is in a lot of pain.
He says he was playing basketball at Landmark middle school Monday when a small scuffle ended with a school bully punching Nathan square in the jaw.
“He’s just a real jerk whenever we play he gets mad,” Nathan said.
Nathan says he doesn’t know why – but for some reason the bully has been picking on him for the last three months.
The harassment started small with shoving, and pushing – Nathan says the bully even took some of his stuff.
According to the school’s policy – a student causing physical harm to another is grounds for suspension.
Nathan’s parents say they’ve been told the kid Nathan calls a bully has been suspended until the end of the school year – which is this Friday.
Nathan’s father says he’s irritated by the bullying. But he’s also upset school officials didn’t contact him immediately.
“He’s a good kid good student never gets in trouble unfortunately those are the kids that get picked on,” Chad Downey said.
