LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — A woman who falsely accused a fellow Long Beach Poly High School student of rape in 2002 was ordered by a judge on Friday to pay $2.6 million to the school district.

The rape conviction of Brian Banks, the former Long Beach Polytechnic High School football standout, was overturned in May, 2012.

Wanetta Gibson was not in court and her whereabouts were unknown, according to prosecutors.

The judgement allows the Long Beach Unified School District to garnish Gibson’s future wages and property.

Gibson sued the district for lax campus security related to the alleged rape and received $750,000 from a $1.5 million settlement.

She later recanted her rape charge against Brian Banks, who had been convicted and served more than five years in prison.

He was exonerated in May of 2012.

Banks was a star football player at Poly High School at the time Gibson accused him of rape.

Earlier this year, he signed a contract to play football for the Atlanta Falcons.

She should go to jail and the prosecutor should be disbarred. They can not give him those years back and I bet the prosecutor did not apologize.

Did this woman lie under oath? If so, she should be in jail. Both she and the school district should pay restitution to Mr. Banks He will never get the years spent behind bars back. However, I hope he'll realize success with his professional football dreams, and, more importantly, with his life in general.

She should get the same sentence that he had, it is only fair. She has to pay??? To hell with that, put her 41 years to life in prison. If you falsely accuse someone of a crime you should get the same penalty as that person. The gynocentric hypocrisy runs deep.
