BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (KTLA) – The 40th Daytime Emmy Awards honored the best in daytime programming on Sunday in Beverly Hills.
The gathering was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with the four remaining soaps still airing on the broadcast networks each hoping to pick up the top awards.
“The Young and the Restless” took on last year’s winner “General Hospital,” “Days of Our Lives,” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
Among daytime talk shows, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” had 11 nominations.
“Good Morning America” weather anchor Sam Champion, along with the HLN network’s A.J. Hammer and Robin Meade, hosted the ceremony.
The show aired live at 8 p.m. EDT on HLN.
