LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — The LAPD’s bomb squad responded to a report of a pipe bomb found in the Mid-City area Wednesday morning, but no explosives were found, authorities said.

FBI agents serving a search warrant found what appeared to be a pipe bomb.

The bomb squad was dispatched around 7:40 a.m. to the 5100 block of Washington Boulevard.

FBI agents who were serving an arrest and search warrant discovered the suspicious device.

Police and agents appeared to be focused on a room at the Reno Motel.

The device was later determined to be drug paraphernalia, according to FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.

Some fireworks were also found and confiscated out of an abundance of caution, Eimiller said.

The FBI was serving the warrant on behalf of its San Diego division, according to Eimiller. No additional details were provided.
