Family Says Suspect in Woman’s Death Was Her Ex-Girlfriend
ORANGE, Calif. (KTLA) — The suspect in a deadly shooting outside an apartment complex in Orange was the victim’s ex-girlfriend, family members of the deceased woman said Friday.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in the 2000 block of E. Palmyra Ave., according to Orange police.
A neighbor said she ran outside after hearing gunshots and saw the victim on the sidewalk when the suspect, with a gun still in hand, walked up and kicked her.
The woman said she ran back inside her home and called police.
Officers responding to the call found 44-year-old Jennifer Roberta Solorio on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds, police said.
She was transported to the hospital, where she later died.
Police were searching for 35-year-old Jessica Gonzalez as a suspect in the shooting.
Solorio, a mother of four and grandmother of two, separated from Gonzalez two months ago and took out a restraining order Wednesday, according to her family.
Gonzalez was described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 90 pounds. She was seen wearing black sweatpants and a black sweater.
She was considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Anyone with information was asked to call Orange police Det. Scott Trausch at (714) 936-1204.
