Couple Celebrates Platinum Wedding Anniversary

HIDDEN HILLS, Calif. (KTLA) — Surrounded by generations of loved ones, a Los Angeles couple celebrated 70 years of marriage on Sunday.

Bob and Francis Rub, both 93, met in junior high school in Mansfield, Ohio.

They both had immigrated to the U.S. in their childhoods: Francis from Russia in 1921 and Bob from Hungry in 1927.


Bob and Francis Rub celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

The couple was married in 1943 and raised six children together.

They now have 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

They pair also had similar career interests. She worked as a bookkeeper while he was an accountant.

Bob was also the president of Beth Israel Congregation in Mid-City.  He held the position for 42 years.
