Man Shot During Alleged Robbery Setup in South L.A.

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Police were searching on Sunday for a gunman who shot a man during an alleged robbery setup.

The shooting happened at 10:57 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of West 92nd Street and Western Avenue.

The victim had arranged to meet a woman for a date in the area, according to LAPD officers.

While the man was waiting in his car, three men approached him and demanded money, officers said.


A man was shot near the intersection of Manchester and Western avenues.

The victim refused and attempted to leave.

One of the three alleged robbers shot the man in the torso.

The victim was able to drive himself to a nearby Chevron station, where a clerk called 911.

The man was taken to California Hospital Medical Center and was listed in critical but stable condition on Sunday.

The man believed he was set up by the woman he was supposed to meet, officers said.
