RV Crashes Into Apartment Building
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — An investigation was underway after a man lost control of a recreational vehicle and crashed into an apartment building late Tuesday.
The crash occurred about 11:40 p.m. at Clark Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, authorities said. The driver sideswiped the building, hit a fence and sheared a power pole before coming to a stop.
The crash resulted in a power outage, and residents of the building were evacuated. Power crews worked to restore electricity in the building while teams from the Los Angeles Fire Deparment and the Department of Building and Safety were determining the stability of the structure.
The driver of the RV reportedly may have been under the influence. He was transported to a hospital and expected to recover. Three dogs that were also in the vehicle were unharmed.
A neighbor who heard the crash compared it with “a train derailment or … one of those big giant trucks that dropped off their back end or something.”
