L.A. County Task Force Confiscates $1 Million Worth of Illegal Fireworks

EL MONTE , Calif. (KTLA) – A task force headed by the Los Angeles County Fire Department announced Friday it had confiscated thousands of pounds of illegal fireworks.

Fire officials showed off the huge cache of fireworks that they seized during a news conference.

They estimated that the fireworks were worth about $1 million.

The task force was made up of El Monte detectives and county fire investigators who developed cases through informants and online resources, such as Craigslist.
