Hollywood Stabbing Victim Mourned at Service

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KTLA) — Friends and family members gathered Saturday at a public memorial service for Christine Calderon, a 23-year-old woman who was fatally stabbed last month in Hollywood.

Calderon, a Lynwood native, died at a hospital June 18 after being attacked near the Hollywood & Highland Center, authorities said. She had been trying to take pictures of three transients on the Walk of Fame who were holding signs and panhandling.

Dustin James Kinnear, 26, was charged with one count of murder for allegedly stabbing Calderon, according to the L.A. County district attorney’s office.

Brian Joseph Widdows, 34, and Jason Joel Wolstone, 33, were each charged with two counts of accessory after the fact. Wolstone was also charged with one count of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury.

All three men pleaded not guilty on June 21.

The memorial service, held at New Testament Church in South Los Angeles, was described as a celebration of Calderon’s life.

She is survived by her mother and five siblings.
