SOUTHEAST LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – One person died and four others were hospitalized on Sunday, after a violent confrontation at a baptism party in Southeast Los Angeles, authorities said.
The violence broke out on Saturday night at an apartment complex on the corner of 127th and Hoover streets, according to investigators with the LAPD’s Southeast Community Police Station.
The trouble started when a fight broke out between rival gangs at about 11 p.m.
The fight, which involved guns and knives, left one man dead.
Three other men and a woman were injured, however their conditions were not known.
It was also unclear if the injured had been shot or stabbed.
Many of the nearly 150 attending the party were young children.
Officers investigated and interviewed witnesses throughout the night before taking four men into custody.
Three of the men were later released as the investigation continued.
