CANOGA PARK, Calif. (KTLA) — Police have arrested a man in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of a teenage employee at the Westfield Topanga Mall.
Kioki Ray Snowden, 19, of Lancaster, was arrested on Thursday after detectives served a warrant at his residence, Los Angeles police said.
He was being held on $1 million bail.
The alleged kidnapping happened around 5:30 p.m. on July 4, as the 19-year-old victim was leaving her job at the mall, authorities said.
As she stood near her car in the parking lot, Snowden allegedly approached her and forced her into her car at knifepoint.
He then allegedly held the teen hostage for three hours.
He directed her to drive to multiple locations in the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles, police said.
Snowden allegedly stole property from the victim and also gained access to her bank account through her ATM card.
During the time that she was held, she was also allegedly sexually assaulted by the suspect, authorities said.
Anyone with information on the case was asked to call 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247).
