(KTLA) — Forty-three years after a woman was saved from her burning home in Santa Ana, she was reunited Saturday with the police officer who rescued her.

Angela Basore, 47, now a resident of San Diego, used social media to reconnect with Harlan Lambert, who was an Orange County police officer at the time of the fire.

Both shed tears of joy Saturday as they embraced each other.

“These guys give their lives every day for people like me,” Basore said, as Lambert stood alongside her, his arm wrapped around her shoulder.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to meet you and say thank you,” she told him.
