MID-CITY, Calif. (KTLA) – One person was killed and four others injured in a multi-car crash in the Mid-City section of Los Angeles on Saturday night.
The accident happened around 11:30pm when a driver was speeding down La Cienega Boulevard and hit another car near the intersection of Cashio Street, according to Officer Rolando Solana of the LAPD West Traffic Division.
The second car crashed into a group of pedestrians standing on the corner.
One person died. Police believe he was homeless.
“He appeared to be someone who lived in the streets in this area,” Officer Solana told KTLA News.
Two people were taken to the hospital with critical injuries and two others had minor injuries, including the driver of the second vehicle.
The driver took off on foot after the crash. He was arrested a short time later for DUI and manslaughter.
