Fire burning along 5 Freeway in Mission Hills

MISSION HILLS, Calif. (KTLA) — A small brush fire erupted along the 5 Freeway near Roxford Street Tuesday afternoon creating a huge traffic backup.

The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. in light brush on the northbound side of the freeway.

The fire charred about 4 acres before firefighters were able to knock it down, according to L.A. City Fire.

The freeway remained open, but traffic was backed up for several miles.
