FONTANA, Calif. (KTLA) — Police were searching Friday for a Fontana man who may have been attacked and kidnapped from the driveway of his home.
Alejandro Padilla, 40, was leaving for work when a neighbor reported hearing someone calling for help in the 6800 block of Beechcraft Avenue, according to a news release from the Fontana Police Department.
“He was on his way to work like he is every morning, Fontana police Sgt. Doug Imhof said. “He made the phone call that he makes every morning to a co-worker and then he hasn’t shown up to work.”
When officers arrived they found signs of a violent and bloody struggle in front of Padilla’s home, police said.
Padilla and his car, a black 2009 Nissan Versa with California license plate No. 6GZF702, were both missing.
A long-time friend of Padilla’s came to the house as soon as he heard what happened.
Carlos Granados said what he saw outside the house was disturbing.
“There’s blood right over here where they found his shirt, so apparently when they were dragging him out he must’ve been fighting, ” Carlos Granados.
A broken baseball bat was also found by police, Granados said.
Anyone with information was asked to contact Fontana police at (909) 350-7700.
