SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KTLA) — Authorities in San Bernardino on Monday were investigating a rash of recent burglaries at local schools.
There have been 23 thefts at at least 12 different schools there in the month of July alone, police said.
The first incident was on July 2 at Hunt Elementary School, and the most recent theft was reported on July 25, authorities said.
The thieves have taken everything from computers to band equipment to copper parts from air conditioners.
At one school, they siphoned gas out of a delivery truck.
They also took tools from a construction site at one of the schools.
The schools involved include Hunt Elementary, Hillside Elementary, Cole Elementary, Roberts Elementary, Arroyo Valley High and San Gorgonio High.
Thieves have also hit Lankershim Elementary, Indian Springs High, Wilson Elementary, Pacific High, Del Rosa Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary.
Some of the schools have been burglarized multiple times.
Del Rosa Elementary has been hit three times in one month, and Roosevelt Elementary has been burglarized twice, police said.
