Michael Ansara, Actor Who Played Kang on ‘Star Trek,’ Dies at 91
CALABASAS, Calif. (KTLA) — Actor Michael Ansara, best known for playing “Star Trek’s” Kang, died in Calabasas after a long illness, it was announced Friday.
Ansara died Wednesday at his home from complications of Alzheimer’s disease,, according to his former agent, Michael B. Druxman.
The Syrian-born actor was best known for portraying American Indians and as the Klingon commander Kang in three different versions of the “Star Trek” television franchise including the original “Star Trek,” “Deep Space Nine” and “Voyager.”
Ansara also appeared on dozens of other TV shows including “Broken Arrow,” ‘’Law of the Plainsman,” ‘’I Dream of Jeannie,” ‘’Hawaii 5-0” and “Murder, She Wrote.”
He was survived by his wife of 36 years, Beverly, a sister and a niece and nephew.
