SAN DIEGO (KTLA) -– Sheriff’s deputies were searching Monday for a 40-year-old man suspected of abducting two children after killing their mother at a house in eastern San Diego County.
A state-wide Amber Alert was issued Monday in the search for Hannah Anderson, 16, and her brother Ethan, 8, after the discovery of their mother’s body in a home owned by James Lee DiMaggio.
The body of Christina Anderson was discovered Sunday night in the rubble of a burned out house in the rural community of Boulevard, authorities said.
The remains of a child were also found, but the child’s identity and cause of death were not known, Lt. Glenn Giannantonio of the Sheriff’s Department told the L.A. Times.
DiMaggio was believed to be driving a four-door blue Nissan Versa, California license plate No. 6WCU986, according to the Amber Alert.
He might be traveling to Texas or Canada, authorities said.
