RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KTLA) — A 22-year-old woman was ordered to stand trial Monday on charges she solicited two people to murder two of her former boyfriends.
Barbara Wu was charged with seven counts including soliciting murder, stalking and other crimes after her boyfriend secretly recorded her asking him to kill her ex-boyfriend, according to court documents.
Wu allegedly wanted him to break the man’s legs with a baseball bat, kill him and discard the body.
After the case received media attention, another man came forward saying that while he dated Wu in 2009 she also asked him to kill another former boyfriend.
“It’s unusual to have someone soliciting someone for murder,” John Hall of the Riverside Co. District Attorney’s Office said.
“In this particular case, we’ve got someone that we’re alleging has done it twice,” Hall said.
Wu has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
She was being held on $500,000 bail and was ordered to return to court Aug. 22 for an information arraignment.
If convicted, Wu faced up to 15 years in prison.
