LANCASTER, Calif. (KTLA) — Authorities in Lancaster issued a call on Sunday for the public to help them find a predator who tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car.
Investigators with the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station released a composite sketch of the man.
It showed a middle-aged Hispanic man, with a thin build and a mustache.
He had closely cropped hair, thick eyebrows and was driving a white compact vehicle.
The girl was walking home from New Vista Elementary School near Avenue K and Challenger Way on Thursday, when she was approached by the man in his car.
He tried several times to convince the girl to get into the car, but she ignored his advances and continued walking.
A passing motorist saw what was happening, made a U-turn and the suspected predator sped away.
The good Samaritan drove the girl home and notified law enforcement.
Anyone with information was urged to contact Lancaster Sheriff’s Station Detective Melissa Sullivan at (661) 940-3857.
